QUAN LAN ISLAND TOUR

Quan Lan Island is a sparsely populated island in Ha Long Bay, full of white sandy beaches. It is home to some of the highest reviewed beaches in Vietnam, yet it is still off the tourist track.

You will experience the real Vietnam on this three day tour. Not only will you get to spend time with locals but also work with them to experience a little bit of their life. You will spend a morning teaching children English in a local school, farm Vietnamese style with local farmers and enjoy meals in village homes.

We will cycle through the forests and paddy fields of the island. There will also be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the stunning white sandy beaches and crystal clear emerald water. Finally you will get to see the Ba Vang pagoda

Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Long City – Quan Lan Island

You will be collected from your hotel at 07.30 am for the journey to Ha Long City, along the way we will stop at Hai Duong. Lunch will be served on arrival in Ha Long City. If we have the time we will have wander round Ha Long market, before taking a speed boat from Hon Gai harbour, for the two hour ride to Quan Lan island. On landing you will be taken by TukTuk, to your guest house for the trip. Once you are settled we will walk round the village and join a local family working on their farm, tending and picking the vegetables for dinner. For dinner we will join a local family, to feast on local Vietnamese specialities, and learn about local life.

Day 2: Local school visit and bike around QuanLan Island

After a traditional breakfast at your guest house, we will cycle to the village school and help with the English lesson, speaking to the children in English and helping with their studies. Lesson over, and we will continue exploring the wonders of the island on our bikes. We will stop off at the local pagoda, and cycle through the forests and paddy fields, to the sand dunes and the stunning beaches.After relaxing and enjoying the emerald waters we will stop off for lunch, before continuing around the sights of the island. We will return to the guest house in the late afternoon, with time for a rest and to refresh, before dinner is served.

Day 3: Quan Lan Island – Ha Long City – Ba Vang Pagoda – Hanoi

An early start to your final day, we will visit the local markets before breakfast,to see all the produce of the island on offer. After breakfast we will take the speedboat back to Ha Long City, before driving to the Ba Vang Pagoda. Originally built in the 13^th century, the temple has been rebuilt and restored many times over the centuries. Its forecourt, sanctum, the Holy Mother’s temple and the Mountain Spirit temple are located on Thanh Dangmountain,with stunning views overlooking the surrounding countryside.

After exploring the pagoda and its surroundings we will get back into the car, and travel back to Hanoi where we will enjoy lunch, in a local family house, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

This may be the end of the Quan Lan Island tour but, it won’t be the end of your exploration of Vietnam with David Private Tours !
